The system uniquely combines:
(i) ultrasound, (ii) microbubbles, (iii) low dose thrombolytic drug, and (iv) mechanical retrieval and aspiration, delivered via an integrated intravascular catheter system.

SonoVascular’s technology has been engineered to address and overcome the deficiencies and limitations of current interventional devices.

Clot chronicity, that is, how the consistency of the clot changes as it ages, from a soft red blood cell-rich gob to a tough mass made of fibrin and collagen that adheres tightly to the vessel wall (the clot continuum is clinically categorized as acute, subacute, and chronic), would dictate a variety of removal strategies.
