Day 1 of Brazil Africa Forum 2022 was filled with exciting and essential conversations:

🔹 On the Panel entitled "Providing Infrastructure Solutions in Densely Populated Spaces", Patrick Dlamini closely linked the way #communities coexist with nature with the place #sustainability takes in local government strategies. 

🔹 We celebrated Senegal's win over Ecuador with Football Legend Khalilou Fadiga.

🔹 On the Waste Management Panel, participants agreed that #wastemanagement should no longer be considered only as a service to provide communities but as an integral part of local governments policies and regulations. In order to effectively mitigate #climatechange risks, Mayor Adebayo Simon DINAN stressed the importance of local communities coming together and pooling resources for a greater impact. 

🔹 On the Sports Panel, Clarisse Machanguana and Layana De Souza were strong advocates of #youthempowerment through sport. They have found that sports and basketball in particular, taught boys and girls essential life skills such as #leadership, team work and respect. All qualities that would serve them and their communities in all aspects of life. 

🔹 Later on, all participants got the opportunity to relax and get to know each other better during the cocktail sponsored by SouthBridge.
