The Taylor Swift Economy is a real thing, and the The Wall Street Journal just announced its next commodity: Friendship Bracelets. ✨

In a popular song, Taylor sings about making friendship bracelets—so many #swifties made their own.

Now, "Fashion designers are upgrading the Eras-Tour accessory from plastic to enamel, gold and even diamonds, with prices ranging from $130 to over $5,000... Swift seems to approve of the upgrade; in January, the 34-year-old wore a Wove Made bracelet with white diamond “thread” and yellow gold beads. Similar designs retail for $6,000."

T-Swift fan or not, there's a BIG lesson here. "Friendship bracelets" are a product all about community. In this example, brands have capitalized on selling a product that's a gateway for consumers to join a community representing something so much bigger. 

Some of the world's most successful CPG brands revolve around one thing: ➡️ COMMUNITY ⬅️. They have built a loyal fan base of brand/product advocates, and that's the foundation of an incredible marketing strategy.
