We had the pleasure of welcoming friends of Timberlake to our 40th Anniversary Celebrations at the House of Commons. Timberlake was founded 40 years ago by Ana Timberlake as a firm specialising in statistical software and consultancy. Born in Portugal, Ana Timberlake started her career at the PTRC, a research unit in London, before undertaking her PhD at Queen Mary College London. She then joined Control Data Corporation (CDC) in London, forming lifelong associations with academic researchers and software developers, ultimately leading to her founding Timberlake in 1984. From there, the company has grown into the internationally recognised statistical consultancy firm it is today. It was a pleasure to hear memories of Ana from so many people including Ana's daughter Teresa Timberlake, granddaughter, Isabel Corbett and Nick Cox, who gave a wonderful speech celebrating her legacy.
