This week, Spain faced its worst flooding disaster in generations, while the region around Bergen battles severe impacts from floods caused by extreme heavy rain. Key learnings: ⚡ Europe’s energy transition is underway and set to continue, with essential technologies in place. ⚡ Progress is under 50% of the pace needed to reach 2050 goals, with investment and infrastructure facing challenges. ⚡ To accelerate, Europe needs greater flexibility from demand-side management and battery storage, while hydrogen, though promising, may not be the full solution. ⚡ Advanced weather insights powered by AI will play an essential role in optimizing energy solutions and reducing infrastructure risks through precise forecasting.
