We equip our construction sites with PV systems, supplying them with their own electricity. Thanks to everyone's commitment and expertise, Niko and his colleagues were able to implement this idea quickly. 🌞

Seit Tagen erleben wir den Höhepunkt sportlicher Höchstleistungen: Athlet:innen aus der ganzen Welt wetteifern bei den Olympischen Spielen um Medaillen. Hinter den Kulissen grandioser Sportevents steht eine andere beeindruckende Leistung: der Bau von Sportstätten und Infrastruktur. Genau hier kommen wir als STRABAG ins Spiel! 🏗️
Wir tragen dazu bei, optimale Bedingungen für Athlet:innen zu schaffen. Ein aktuelles Projekt ist der Bau einer neuen Schwimmanlage in Zagreb, Kroatien.

Die Anlage mit 5.900 m² Gesamtfläche umfasst ein Sport- und Freizeitbecken im olympischen Ausmaß, ein Bildungsbecken, einen Sauna- und Wellnessbereich sowie Platz für 300 Zuschauer:innen. Besonderes Hauptaugenmerk: Barrierefreiheit, um allen Menschen Zugang zu ermöglichen. Die Bauarbeiten starten in den kommenden Monaten, die Fertigstellung ist Ende nächsten Jahres geplant. 💪
In diesem Sinne: Lasst uns die Athlet:innen der Olympischen und baldigen Paraolympischen Spiele anfeuern und gleichzeitig die beeindruckenden Leistungen der Baubranche feiern! 👏

Swim for the win 🥇🏊

For days now, we have been experiencing the pinnacle of sporting excellence: Athletes from all over the world are competing for medals at the Olympic Games. Behind the scenes of grandiose sporting events is another impressive achievement: the construction of sports facilities and infrastructure. This is exactly where STRABAG comes into play! 🏗️ We help to create optimal conditions for athletes. One current project is the construction of a new swimming facility in Zagreb, Croatia.

The 5,900 m² facility includes an Olympic-sized sports and leisure pool, an educational pool, a sauna and wellness area and space for 300 spectators. Special focus: Accessibility to ensure access for all. Construction work will start in the upcoming months and completion is planned for the end of next year. 💪
With this in mind, let's cheer on the athletes of the Olympic and soon-to-be Paralympic Games and celebrate the impressive achievements of the construction industry at the same time! 👏

E-Ladeinfrastruktur vor malerischer Kulisse ⛰️
Das E-Auto laden und dabei auf smaragdgrünes Wasser und die Berchtesgadener Alpen schauen? 🔋🔌 Klingt nach einem Märchen, ist es aber nicht.😉 Am bayerischen Königssee wird genau das bald möglich sein. 

Die Tourismusregion zieht viele Besucher:innen und deren E-Autos an. Um diesen Bedarf zu decken, bauen unseren bayerischen Kolleg:innen die größte öffentliche Photovoltaik-Carportanlage Bayerns. Die Fläche wird gleich doppelt genutzt: Die 280 geplanten Stellplätze werden von einer 4.700 m2 großen Solarmodulfläche überdacht, die wir gemeinsam mit unserem Partner „Watzmann Natur Energie“ realisieren. ☀️
Wo künftig Strom fließen soll, mussten erst einmal Grundsteine verlegt werden. Für die 62 Ladepunkte mit umweltfreundlicher Energie waren umfangreiche Tiefbaumaßnahmen erforderlich. Neben der Entwässerung und dem Einbau von 170 Einzelfundamenten wurden hier tausende Meter von Leerrohr verlegt. Die Carportanlage wird im Herbst 2024 fertiggestellt. Dann heißt es: Ready, set, charge! ⚡

E-charging infrastructure against a picturesque backdrop ⛰️

Charging your electric car while looking out over emerald green water and the Berchtesgaden Alps? 🔋🔌 Sounds like a fairy tale, but it's not.😉 This will soon be possible at Königssee in Bavaria.
The tourist region attracts many visitors and their e-cars. To meet this demand, our Bavarian colleagues are building the largest public photovoltaic carport facility in Bavaria. The area will be utilised twice: The 280 planned parking spaces will be covered by a 4,700 m2 solar module area, which we are realising together with our partner ‘Watzmann Natur Energie’. ☀️

Where electricity is to flow in future, foundation stones first had to be laid. Extensive civil engineering work was required for the 62 charging points with environmentally friendly energy. In addition to drainage and the installation of 170 individual foundations, thousands of metres of empty conduit were laid here. The carport facility will be completed in autumn 2024. Then it's ready, set, charge! ⚡

Nachhaltiges Bauen im (Antik-)Bestand 🚧

Wenn man es mit 6.000 Jahre alten Oasen mit Gräberfunden zu tun hat, sitzt man entweder bei Indiana Jones vor dem Bildschirm oder arbeitet bei unserem Tochterunternehmen ZÜBLIN an spektakulären „Bauen im Bestand“-Projekten. 🤩

Die Restaurierung und der Ausbau des ältesten Museums in Abu Dhabi sowie die Vitalisierung eines alten Militärforts erfordert antikes Bauwissen. Glücklicherweise unterstützt ein Lehrstuhl in Ägypten und Archäologie-Professor:innen unser Team bei den Arbeiten am Al Ain-Museum und Sultan-Fort. 🤝

ZÜBLIN Construction LLC realisiert dieses prestigeträchtige Projekt, da erfolgreiche frühere Projekte mit historischem Wert durchgeführt wurden. Die Herausforderungen sind vielfältig: Neben dem historischen Lehmputz mit Holzbalkendecken ist in Al Ain auch das 1.000 Jahre alte Bewässerungssystem zu berücksichtigen. Gearbeitet wird mit lokal abgebautem Ton und Ressourcen aus der Umgebung. Genial: Selbst der ursprüngliche Lehm kann mit Wasser vermischt erneut als Baumaterial verwendet werden.

Sustainable construction in (antique) buildings 🚧

When you're dealing with 6,000-year-old oases with grave finds, you're either sitting in front of a screen watching Indiana Jones or working on spectacular "Bauen im Bestand" projects at our subsidiary ZÜBLIN. 🤩

The restoration and expansion of the oldest museum in Abu Dhabi and the revitalisation of an old military fort require ancient construction expertise. Fortunately, a chair in Egypt and archaeology professors are supporting our team with the work on the Al Ain Museum and Sultan Fort. 🤝

ZÜBLIN Construction LLC is realising this prestigious project due to successful previous projects with historical value. The challenges are manifold: in addition to the historic clay plaster with wooden beam ceilings, the thousand year old irrigation system in Al Ain must also be taken into account. Work is carried out using locally quarried clay and resources from the surrounding area. Ingenious: Even the original clay can be mixed with water and reused as a building material.
