“We own and operate two mining waste-to-power facilities in Pennsylvania, Scrubgrass⚡and Panther Creek⚡, with aggregate power capacity of 165 megawatts,” said SDIG CEO Greg Beard on our Q4 and 2023 earnings call. “Through our process, Scrubgrass and Panther Creek have removed an estimated 30 million tons of toxic mining waste from the environment from nearly 100 different sites.”

Stronghold Carbon Capture Update:

⚡ SDIG Scrubgrass Plant carbon capture project is registered on the Puro Carbon Registry. Stronghold expects to begin the audit process in the near future.

⚡ The Second Karbolith™ is now operational at the Scrubgrass Plant.

We convert highly polluting mining waste into energy.
The natural byproduct of this specialized power generation process is beneficial use ash. In partnership with the carbon mineralization experts Karbonetiq, we developed new direct air capture technology - the Karbolith - that facilitates the carbon mineralization process, transforming our ash into an effective carbon sink.
