Congratulations to CenSyn, Inc. on successfully securing both an NSF SBIR Grant and Arizona state funding to accelerate commercialization of its neurohealth medical platform.

The Small Business Innovation Research (#SBIR) Phase I grant was awarded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) after a highly competitive selection process. In addition, the Arizona Commerce Authority's Arizona Innovation Challenge grant and backing from the WearTech Applied Research Center ensure the startup's access to essential resources at federal and state levels.

These achievements underscore the potential of CenSyn's neuro-medical platform in transforming how they detect concussions and manage long-term brain health.

Startup Leprendo won $15,000 from the 2022 Stella Zhang New Venture Competition, and that prize money has made a big difference in aiding market research and entry into the #agritech community.

Founded by UC Irvine students Dan T. and Dylan Riffle, Leprendo is an online marketplace connecting farms directly with consumers and chefs. The idea emerged when a friend reached out seeking help selling her family's dates. Leprendo, initially focused on Medjool Dates, expanded to offer various organic foods and artisan products, achieving $400,000 in sales in its first year.

Dan T. and Dylan Riffle were students at UC Irvine when a friend reached out asking for help finding ways to sell her family's dates. That request evolved into Leprendo, an online marketplace connecting farms directly to consumers and chefs.

Dan and Dylan developed their startup through the UCI community, winning the Buttersworth Technology Startup Competition, then the 2022 Stella Zhang New Venture Competition – first in the consumer category and second overall. And now it's a full-time job: Leprendo had $400,000 in sales in its first year.

David Hojah has watched loved ones, friends, and family suffer from neurodegenerative diseases and severe accidents that left them with fewer ways to communicate and interact with the world. Acting as a solo founder, David decided to apply his technological know-how and create Parrots Inc., using #ArtificialIntelligence to provide assistance communicating and dealing with the disease.  

David's first product is called Polly. Polly is an #AI platform that provides real-time voice, cognitive assistant, and #telecare solutions.  

“My family had a parrot, and it was so smart. It could mimic everyone in the house,” David said. “I can build a companion (for those who suffer from neurodegenerative diseases) called Parrots, and then it can be the one mimicking their voice or restoring their voice, and it can give independence and companionship and assistance for the caregivers as well.”
