As a gesture of our appreciation for Superior employees who served in the military, we’ve launched a new Veteran Challenge Coin initiative. We’re giving veterans these coins as a token of our gratitude for their commitment, courage, and sacrifice, which have helped preserve the freedoms and values we hold dear.

Last month, Midwest President Dan Sopczak and Director of Construction Services Jeff Carlson presented the first three coins to Mike Ruane, Martin Huerta, and Chad Benner.

UPDATE: Our SR 249 project team is delivering #SuperiorResults for the Indiana Department of Transportation.

The project scope includes building a new bridge and rebuilding the existing bridge’s superstructure on this Portage, Indiana, project. The team recently finished the structural steel on the southbound bridge. 

They anticipate reaching substantial completion in November 2025 — a YEAR ahead of schedule!

PROJECT UPDATE: Superior’s I-465/96th project team has initiated the final construction phase on this $22 million Indiana Department of Transportation project. They’re widening I-465 to improve traffic flow and expect to complete construction this fall, three to four weeks early. Fantastic job, team!

Superior’s First Coast team members recently took first place in the 13th annual Bowl-A-Thon hosted by the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials Jacksonville Chapter. COMTO, an organization that promotes equity in transportation leadership, organizes the annual event to raise money for student scholarships.

A special shout out to our team’s MVP, Ashley Ramos, who was the highest-scoring woman to participate in the event, helping Superior secure the win! Congratulations to all who participated and helped raise money for a great cause.

Several Superior Midwest team members recently participated in the Indiana Constructors, Inc. Centennial Golf Classic.

Funds raised during the annual event, held at Pebble Brook Golf Club in Noblesville, Indiana, support the Work IN Roads, Inc. Foundation, a collaborative initiative that educates Hoosiers about the broad career paths available in the road construction industry.

Thank you to everyone who attended the inaugural Superior Women in Construction "Night at the Ballpark" events in Jacksonville, Florida, and Gary, Indiana.
