We're excited to share that the University of Zurich Space Hub has moved into Hall 4 at Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich as of April 2024. This milestone positions Zurich as a central player in the New Space Economy, fostering innovation in space and aviation.

🏢 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞-𝐨𝐟-𝐭𝐡𝐞-𝐀𝐫𝐭 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
Hall 4 offers flexible, multi-use spaces for startups, including labs, workshops, offices, and seminar rooms. With direct access to the runway of Stadt Dübendorf Airfield and its connection to the Kennedy Space Center, the Space Hub is ideally positioned to foster collaboration between research, development, industry, and the economy. 

🌐 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭:
Recognizing the significance of developments in the industry, the Kanton Zürich has made space exploration a top priority. In a resolution passed by the Government Council on April 10, 2024, the use of space was declared one of the canton’s three flagship innovation projects. The Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich in Dübendorf creates an environment that supports innovation and strengthens the connection between science and industry , ensuring Zurich remains a competitive hub for technological advancements. It focuses on robotics & mobility, aerospace, and production technologies, utilizing Zurich's unique tech capabilities to address future challenges.

Sophie Cerny, Deputy CEO of Switzerland Innovation, embarked on an innovation roadshow through #Boston, #Houston, and #Austin to boost global connections and emphasize Switzerland Innovation's commitment to global tech partnerships. 

In Boston, meetings with National Grid, LabCentral, MIT Sloan School of Management, Boston Manufacturing Group, Boston Children's Hospital and Mansfield Bio-Incubator opened the door for potential collaborations in #lifesciences and #energytransition.

In #Texas, meetings focused on #space and life sciences, exploring the ecosystems of Axiom Space, Texas Medical Center Innovation Factory, Rice University and The University of Texas at Austin. Presentations in Austin and Houston connected us with the local community of innovators and highlighted Switzerland's strong presence in space technology and thriving biopharma ecosystem.

The European Space Agency - ESA is seeking proposals for technological challenges in quantum technologies and data management/processing for the European Space Deep-tech Innovation Centre (ESDI).

The call encourages submissions which require novel interdisciplinary collaboration and seeks proposals for challenges that would particularly benefit from tapping into Switzerland's strengths in research and deep-tech. 

📍 About ESA and ESDI: The European Space Deep-tech Innovation Centre (ESDI), implemented by ESA in #Switzerland, pioneers advancements in space technology, focusing on quantum technologies and data management/processing.
