🌍🔋 The market for pre-issuance carbon credit projects is experiencing a significant upswing due to several key factors.

Major corporations are increasingly looking to invest in high-quality credits during the early stages of projects to secure future supply and mitigate the quality and #transparency risks associated with the current spot market. 

Furthermore, the spot market faces a #supply crunch, with quality credits depleting due to high demand and limited new projects. This scarcity is driving investment into pre-issuance projects, offering a stable supply of high-quality credits and price advantages before projects have hit the market.

💡 However, navigating this space is challenging due to a lack of readily available information for identifying and evaluating projects. This gap complicates investment decisions and monitoring, making the process difficult for market participants.

Trying to find CORSIA-eligible carbon credits? Sylvera can help. Now, in our Project Catalog, we have added labels for projects that meet CORSIA requirements 🛫 

As #CORSIA officially entered its First Phase in January of this year, a significant portion of international flights will be subject to CORSIA compliance, including offsetting emissions with CORSIA-eligible #CarbonCredits.

Even though ‌First Phase countries can elect to participate, compliance is mandatory for airlines operating international flights between those participating states.

As a result, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the leading trade association for international airlines, has projected that its members will spend $600M on carbon credits this year, increasing competition for eligible credits.

ICYMI➡️ Last week, new groundbreaking research published in Communications Earth & Environment, revealed we might be significantly underestimating the amount of carbon stored in nature.

Led by scientists from Sylvera, UCL, National Centre for Earth Observation, University of Maryland, The University of Edinburgh, University of Leicester, Mozambican researchers, and in collaboration with The World Bank Group, cutting-edge Multi-scale lidar technology was used to assess Mozambique's miombo woodlands.
