The Takeoff Accelerator is an initiative of CDP Venture Capital Sgr, powered by Plug and Play, together with Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Torino and UniCredit as Promoters and Co-Investors, and OGR as Innovation and Networking Partner.

Takeoff is the first Italian accelerator dedicated to the aerospace and advanced hardware sectors, aiming at bringing together financial and industrial players to provide the selected startups with the widest support both in terms of network and professional skills.

Let us tell you about Xylene, the only purely downstream service of the batch. The Italian-German #startup uses the satellite data of Copernicus to map, assess and identify risks of the supply chain.

What do sunflowers have to do with space? Well, let us introduce Revolv Space, creators of SARA (Solar Array Rotary Actuator) - a plug and play device that can be connected to the solar panels of a #satellite and follow the sunlight. Yes, like a sunflower! 

This can increase the average power per orbit by 117%, leading to continuous operations and more revenues for companies that use small satellites to provide a service on Earth, like Internet of Things (#IoT), #earthobservation, #radiofrequency monitoring, and maritime Automatic Identification System (#AIS). 

SARA also contributes to create a cleaner and sustainable Low Earth Orbit, thanks to its embedded de-orbiting mode that accelerates the disposal of the satellite at the end of its life. One of the strengths of the startup is definitely the international team from Italy and Poland, but based in the Netherlands.
