The Intercept is an online American nonprofit news organization that publishes articles and podcasts. It was founded in 2014 by journalists Glenn Greenwald, Jeremy Scahill, and Laura Poitras, and is financially supported by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar. The organization aims to investigate powerful individuals and institutions to expose corruption and injustice, and sees journalism as an instrument of civic action.
