Just back from an incredible week in San Francisco and Vegas for #GoogleCloudNext and an event in SF.

It was awesome to be able to catch up with so many friends, partners, customers, and industry peers over the week. Events like Google Cloud Next are fantastic to be able to hear from many others sharing their perspectives on the present & future of AI in Financial Services as well as share what we’re up to and our own learnings from Bud both on-stage and in conversation.

I had three key takeaways from talks and conversations:
- 🏗️ There is still foundational work to be done - many organizations are rapidly maturing in the Generative & Traditional AI space and building infrastructure and governance, but there are often still missing components such as a strong understanding of customers to provide customer context into GenAI Apps
- 🚀 What’s the game changer - As AI projects progress many are beginning to see value in terms of efficiency gains (i.e. Developer Efficiency) and are now looking at what’s next and what will really shift the needle as a major step up - especially in regard to Agents
- 💰 From experimentation towards ROI - Organisations are now moving from the experimentation phase that dominated AI resources last year inside FSIs (which was often costly but without guaranteed outcomes), towards concrete projects focused on ROI from AI that will move the needle they can see on their P&L or risk profile

At Bud we’re super focused on helping FSIs understand their customers with AI and delivering that as ROI such as for Consumer Personalisation, Cashflow Underwriting, Cross-Customer Analytics so those were all super positive messages to be hearing.
