TOPPAN Inc., a TOPPAN Group company and wholly owned subsidiary of TOPPAN Holdings Inc., will participate in Automotive Interiors Expo 2024, which will be held from November 12 through 14 at Messe Stuttgart in Germany. For the first time outside Japan, TOPPAN will present a mock-up demonstrating the use of its transparent decorative film in a vehicle. The innovative film can conceal the presence of a screen while also enabling content to be displayed in the conventional way. TOPPAN will also showcase LC MAGIC™ Normal Black, a liquid-crystal-based light-blocking film from the TOPPAN Group that can switch between transparent and a black color. Ltd. have entered into an agreement with ASSA ABLOY to acquire HID’s CID (Citizen Identity Solutions) business, a division of HID Global Corporation focused on the government identity sector. With this acquisition, the TOPPAN Group will fuse the robust global sales network, customer base, and solution development capabilities of HID’s CID business with the technical expertise that the TOPPAN Group has accrued over its extensive track record in the global security business. The TOPPAN booth will present CCMs and MEAs for fuel cells and water electrolysis. 1) CCMs for use in water electrolysis The TOPPAN booth will present large (600 mm by 800 mm) CCMs that are uniformly coated using a proprietary manufacturing method. Increasing the area of a CCM can potentially enable more efficient hydrogen production and reduction of the number of stacks and other types of auxiliary devices. A 600-mm-wide CCM in roll form will also be on display. 2) MEAs for use in fuel cells TOPPAN is harnessing printing technologies developed over the years to gain more freedom in how the catalyst layer can be designed.
