🎉  And here we are: at the end of March and the end of Q1/2023.

Two things stood out for me this March.

🎁  1. We met a critical milestone that is directly tied to our north star KPI.
I.e., We opened up the Trudenty Wallet to allow the first cohort of waitlisters to claim their "Proof of identity" credentials.

We want to be the platform that people trust to exchange data with companies, so getting traction on the number of people who hold ‘Proof of identity’ credentials is a big deal.

Yay, Team Trudenty!

💛  2. I was inspired to see the same conviction in our values in a colleague. 

The absolute non-negotiable that ‘people should be the custodians of their own data’, and that ‘data should be held only by its true owner’, unless they consent to sharing that with others.

This excites me about the kind of company we are building.
Yay, Trudenty.

The story?

Whilst we were gearing up to open to the first cohort of our waitlisters, we realised that on one of our apps, we were still using our development environment applications.

In our dev environment, we check that our background verifications are being performed correctly. 

As a result, we see all data that is being verified and check it with the human brain. 
All fine when it is our team’s data and others who have explicitly volunteered for this.

Not okay for our production products, obv.
As this would go against our core principles.

Now, my colleagues knew that I had been desperate to get past the milestone that allows us to start seeing traction on our North Star KPI.

After he spotted the issue, Simon Babatunde gave me a sobering reminder not to get ahead of myself by sending out the email until we had switched to the production environment on the app, despite the slight delay it caused.

This was a big deal.
