If you dont REALLY know the person, and you have a hundred tickets in the queue, and a call queue waiting to be helped, would this AI bot fool you to reset a password at the help desk? I have no political agenda here, but I say I have to agree with the direction here. Insurance companies paying for ransomware payments only increase the possibility that attackers will get paid, and everyone's premiums will go up. Do insurance companies pay arsonists to rebuild a house they burnt down? Do insurance companies pay car jackers to give back stolen cars? No that would be ridiculous... yet here we are... I understand the business decision to pay ransom payments, but that should be paid for by the hacked company, not the insurance company... this is going to be an uphill battle as I see more and more firms getting InfoSec fatigue who are making the "decision" (either by inaction or by prioritizing new features over the resolution of tech debt) to sit back and wait for the breach... - Your friendly neighborhood rogue CISO, Kyle https://lnkd.in/ehTUyFVA
