Today, we celebrate Julian Marshall's remarkable 10 years with UNIFIED Music Group. Beginning as an assistant to Nick Yates in our Sydney office, Julian's career has gone from strength to strength, leading to his current role as Global Operations Manager. Not many people can say they’ve achieved what he has, and while a decade is significant, it’s only one chapter in his career with UNIFIED.

Julian has played a pivotal role in so many major milestones and projects that have shaped UNIFIED over the past 10 years. Working closely with artists like Illy, Violent Soho and Amy Shark (to name a few), he has contributed to winning more ARIA - Australian Recording Industry Association than maybe any manager in the country and selling out countless tours worldwide. His efforts have also supported artists in performing at all major festivals across Australia.

Watching Julian put together Violent Soho’s hiatus shows in Brisbane in 2022 was a particularly special moment. He worked closely with the band and wider team to enable them to deliver two exceptional shows before they took a break from full time touring.

We look forward to many more years of Julian's leadership and achievements.

Last night AIR (Australian Independent Record Labels Association) held their annual AIR Awards in Adelaide, Kaurna land. We are beyond proud to celebrate the wins of our some of incredible artists and their teams! ✨

Last night The Rions played the final leg of their completely sold out Australian ‘Sweet Cocoons Tour’ at the Metro Theatre in Sydney, and I was lucky enough to see this high energy show at Melbourne’s 170 Russell….twice!
 
Each night, 1100 people packed into the Russell street night club where fans sang every song at the top of their lungs, right back at the 20 year olds hailing from Sydney’s Northern Beaches. 
 
The Rions’ success did not happen overnight. UNIFIED signed the band to a management agreement back in 2020 and since then, the band has won Triple J - ABC’s prestigious Unearthed High competition, posted multiple songs in the Hottest 100, and toured non-stop in and around high school schedules.
 
Now with school behind them, there is nothing but excitement about the future for this promising young band. If their new single ‘Sweet Cocoon’ (released via Community Music) is any insight into what’s to come over the next year, then you can expect big things.
 
UNIFIED works every day to invest in talent and build careers. Whilst it’s never been easy to make it in the music industry, The Rions are proof that anything is possible and I’m excited to be a part of their continued success as they head off on their European tour from August. 
 
Huge congrats to Steve de Wilde based in our UNIFIED Music Group Sydney office, who has managed the band since 2020 and been there every step of the way.

A big shoutout to Ash Hills and Dan Nascimento on being shortlisted for the 2024 AAM Awards in the Manager of the Year category! Being nominated is a true testament to their skills and overall dedication to their artists, and UNIFIED Music Group could not be more proud of their accomplishments. We can't wait to see what they do next.
