Am 4. Februar jährte sich der #Weltkrebstag, der das Bewusstsein für Krebserkrankungen schärft und über Prävention, Früherkennung und Behandlung informiert.

Alexander Greiner, Journalist und Autor, kennt die Bedeutung von Vorsorge und Früherkennung bei Krebserkrankungen aus eigener Erfahrung. Nach der Diagnose Hodenkrebs im Jahr 2015 entwickelte sich 2017 eine Schultermetastase.

Im Rahmen unseres virtuellen Formats "Lunch & Learn" für UNIQA Mitarbeitende erzählte er offen von seiner eigenen Krankheitsgeschichte – ihm habe vor allem geholfen, offen über den Krebs zu sprechen und nicht nach Ausreden suchen zu müssen. Außerdem gab er Tipps, wie Primär- und Sekundärprävention funktionieren können.

UNIQA has established a Hub in Poland with the objective of standardizing insurance offerings for multinational companies engaged in cross-border operations. Leveraging the recognized expertise of UNIQA Polska, the Hub will oversee the management of international insurance programs in collaboration with local UNIQA entities and their brokers.

🎿 UNIQA unterstützt Marco Schwarz bei seinem Comeback! 🏆

Beim legendären Schladminger Nightrace erlebten die 40.000 Zuschauer:innen wieder spektakuläre Rennen. Unser persönlicher Höhepunkt: die gemeinsame Pressekonferenz mit Österreichischer Skiverband - Ski Austria mit unserem Markenbotschafter Marco Schwarz. 

Nach seinem Kreuzbandriss berichtete er erstmals über den Heilungsprozess und seine Comeback-Pläne: „Die OP ist gut verlaufen. Ich bin jetzt noch circa drei Wochen mit Krücken unterwegs, dann fängt eigentlich erst die richtig harte Arbeit an, den Muskel wieder aufzubauen. Ich will mich nicht hetzen, sondern mir die Zeit geben, bis alles wieder bei 100 Prozent ist.“

UNIQA Vorstandsmitglied Kurt Svoboda betonte unsere unveränderte Partnerschaft mit Marco Schwarz: „Wir stehen auch in schweren Zeiten zu unseren Sportlerinnen und Sportlern. Da geht es um menschliches Verständnis und genügend Zeit für die Genesung ohne Druck des Sponsors. Wir gehen jeden Weg mit.“

On January 27, the “International Holocaust Remembrance Day”, the #WeRemember campaign of the World Jewish Congress and Israelitische Kultusgemeinde Wien commemorates all people who were persecuted and murdered for anti-Semitic, racist, homophobic, and political reasons.

As an international company and, above all, as people, we stand for diversity, democratic values, and peaceful coexistence. That's why the "name tower" lights up again across the facade of the Vienna headquarters in the evening hours of 27 January.

It features the names of the 68 Jewish men and women whose residential addresses were located on the site of today's UNIQA headquarters before and during the Nazi reign. They had to emigrate, were deported or murdered. Their names are shown in memory of all victims of the holocaust.

Was für ein Semesterabschluss! Wir freuen uns, dass wir 20 Studierende des Masterlehrgangs „Banking and Finance“ in unserem Board Room über den Dächern Wiens begrüßen durften. Hier hatten sie die Möglichkeit, ihre spannenden UNIQA Case Studies zum Thema „Valuation of Insurances“ vor unseren Kolleg:innen Petra Umbrich, Zewar Germiany, CFA und Roman Schneider zu präsentierten. Highlight des Abends? Der inspirierende CFO-Talk mit Kurt Svoboda, bei dem die Studierenden exklusive Fragen stellen konnten.
