Meet your March UPMC Pittsburgh Penguins Healthcare Heroes, Natalie Peacock and Clare Cowen, representing UPMC East and UPMC McKeesport respectively, in infection prevention and patient safety. 

It’s a job that touches every department in the hospital. And it’s a critically important one to keep patients safe. Each UPMC hospital has its own Infection Prevention specialist. Clare and Natalie meet regularly with their colleagues to discuss best practices and share data. The communication process helps keep all UPMC hospitals safe.

UPMC Rehabilitation Institute and the University of Pittsburgh Adaptive Sports and Recreation will host the Pittsburgh Adaptive Recreation Expo at the Kingsley Association on Saturday, April 27, from noon to 4 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

The event will provide an engaging opportunity for people with disabilities, families, friends, health care professionals, and local advocacy partners to come together, engage in the community, spark new partnerships, and inspire the future of adaptive recreation in Pittsburgh.
