Established in 1949, Vanderlande has more than 9,000 employees and a turnover of 2.1 billion euros. 

Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) acquired Vanderlande in 2017 to cement its global leading position within material handling. It aims to achieve this by increasing its presence in all integrated and automated projects, and capitalising on the synergies between the organisations and the added value they offer to the market. 

TICO therefore launched the Toyota Automated Logistics Group (TALG), which consists of Toyota L&F, Bastian Solutions, Vanderlande and viastore. TALG is a global partner for integrated logistic process automation, with its group companies collaborating under the guiding principle: for every challenge, a reliable solution. 

“We design our products so that interacting with them becomes easier and more sustainable.” says Linda van der Meijden, our Human Factors Designer.

During her time as a student, Linda worked as a picking operator in a warehouse. While there, she experienced first-hand the importance of workplace design, and its role in enabling the right conditions for people to enjoy a pleasurable and productive environment. Her experiences helped shape her work as a human movement specialist in our user experience (UX) design team.

Leading Nordic fashion retailer Kappahl Group has chosen Vanderlande to automate a new logistics centre which will be located in the greater Gothenburg area in Sweden. The two companies have signed a contract for the installation of Vanderlande’s FASTPICK solution at the 34,000m2 facility, which is expected to go live in June 2026.

Government-owned Oman Airports Management Company selected Vanderlande because its solutions offered the best total cost of ownership – based on its highly redundant systems – made best use of space in the respective terminals, and delivered energy efficient performance. Oman Airports’ remit also covers airports at Duqm and Sohar, as well as three other regional airports servicing the needs of the oil and gas industry.

“The decision to modernise Muscat and Salalah international airports was to meet the expectations of airlines and passengers in terms of capacity and efficiency,” explains Mohamed Humaid Mohamed Al Shuaili, the Vice President for Regional Airports at Oman Airports.
