Former President of Ireland and United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms. Mary Robinson, has been presented with the inaugural Impact Ireland Award in recognition of her career-long contribution to global environmental sustainability. The Impact Ireland Award was presented by The Edge and Adam Clayton, members of the Global Advisory Council of Impact Ireland. 
 
“The presentation of this Award is the highpoint of the first in-person meeting of our Global Advisory Council with members of the Council present from Ireland, Britain, the United States and Asia. Our Impact Ireland fund invests in tech companies that advance the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. All of these businesses will be grown from Ireland. We are proud to salute Mary Robinson as an Irish woman who is a global champion of Sustainability," said Kieran McLoughlin, Managing Partner, VentureWave Capital which founded and manages the Impact Ireland fund.

Announcing the Public Launch of Venturebeam’s Proprietary ‘Venture Impact Score’

We at Venturewave Capital are thrilled to support the public launch of Venturebeam’s powerful, free tool – the ‘Venture Impact Score’. This innovative tool helps venture-backed companies determine and share their global impact.

The Venture Impact Score assists entrepreneurs and management teams in examining, assessing, and improving their impact aspirations, aligned with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Developed using Venturebeam’s proprietary impact methodology, and refined with input from global impact leaders and VC’s including VentureWave Capital, this score evaluates a venture’s global impact on both people and the planet.

Last week we gathered our Global Advisory Council (GAC) in Dublin to network with our portfolio company CEOs, hear from public policy makers and learn about trends in impact investing.

At our event we honoured Senator George Mitchell with our Impact Award for his outstanding contribution to peace and reconciliation in Northern Ireland.

Congratulations to returning Wall Street 50 honoree Kieran McLoughlin.

Kieran is Managing Partner of VentureWave Capital which has established one of Ireland’s first Impact Investing funds. The firm aims to deliver a commercial return for its clients by scaling high-growth technology companies from Ireland that benefit society. VentureWave’s Global Advisory Council, chaired by former Taoiseach Enda Kenny, promotes the case for Ireland becoming a global center of Impact Investing. Investments are underway in several highly innovative Irish Technology for Good enterprises.

Previously, Kieran served as CEO of The Ireland Funds. During his ten years at the helm, $300 million was raised, which is half of the total amount The Funds raised since they were established in 1976. Annual grant-making increased by a factor of five, and the organization was awarded four stars (the highest level available) by Charity Navigator for its efficiency, transparency, and governance.

Kieran serves on the North American Advisory Board of the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, Glucksman Ireland House, and the John and Pat Hume Foundation. He is Strategic Advisor to Endeavor Ireland.

A graduate of Trinity College, Kieran lives in Dublin with Sarah and their three children.
