In addition, the company engages in the operation and maintenance of heating and cooling networks; development of energy services to reduce the energy consumption and CO2 emissions of buildings; optimization of industrial utilities; and energy use related to processes and industrial buildings, as well as produces electricity from biomass. It offers drinking water to 95 million people. The company was formerly known as Vivendi Environnement and changed its name to Veolia Environnement S.A. in 2003. Veolia Environnement S.A. was founded in 1853 and is based in Aubervilliers, France.

[Press release] 📈 Strong growth in half-year #results, reflecting the solidity of veolia’s value creation model and the good start of its #GreenUp strategic program.

➡ Solid revenue #growth of +4.4% driven by booster activities up +6.9%, while stronghold activities are up +3.4%.🚀

➡ Robust operational performance with a strong EBITDA increase of +5.7%, supported by revenue growth, operational efficiency as well as synergies ahead of annual target. Current net income up +15.2% to €731m.

➡ Continued dynamic capital allocation policy contributing to value creation while preserving a solid balance sheet, with €1bn+ of non-strategic asset divestments signed in the first half, and several targeted acquisitions in priority activities.

[Press release] Veolia announces that its subsidiary Veolia North America has signed an agreement for the divestment of Veolia North America Regeneration Services, which includes its #sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid regeneration activities for refineries, to private equity firm American Industrial Partners for an enterprise value of USD 620 million. 🏭

➡️ These activities represented revenues of around USD 350 million in 2023. The financial closure of the transaction is expected in the coming days.

[Press release] A few months after the launch of its new strategic #GreenUp program, which plans to accelerate its #decarbonization trajectory, Veolia has taken a significant new step in its climate strategy by obtaining the validation of its objectives by the Science Based Targets initiative (#SBTi), the international reference in this field. The SBTi notably praised the Group’s net-zero ambition, recognized as the most ambitious among those it tracks. 🌏

➡️ At the heart of Veolia’s performance model, decarbonization is a powerful driver and a source of value creation for the Group and its clients in the long term. This pragmatic and action-oriented approach allows Veolia to display significant progress in achieving its objectives. 

➡️ Particularly, concerning the 1.6 billion euro program to convert coal-based energy production assets to less carbon-intensive energies or the development of local decarbonizing #energy. ⚡

➡️ Veolia was the first Group to display erased emissions for its clients who are part of Scope 4 which it actively supports at the global level to accelerate the #EcologicalTransformation and particularly the decarbonization of industrial and economic activities. In 2023, Veolia contributed to erase 13.8 Mt of emissions. 🏭🏙️

➡️ Overall, the emission reduction targets of the Group’s validated climate trajectory are aligned with a 1.5°C trajectory set by the Paris Agreement. These targets are part of the GreenUp strategic program:

✔️ 50% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2032, notably through the acceleration of our investments to phase out coal in Europe and capture biogas at our waste storage sites
 
✔️ Increase of 50% in erased emissions for our clients (Scope 4) by 2030
 
✔️ Achievement of carbon neutrality by 2050

Veolia Water Technologies Middle East (Qatar) and Katara Project have inaugurated a pioneering facility for the reuse of treated wastewater in #Qatar. Thanks to this state-of-the-art plant, The Cultural Village Foundation - Katara will save between 5,000 and 15,000 cubic meters of fresh water per day. 💧

➡️ With a daily capacity of 15,000 cubic meters, this plant efficiently transforms treated wastewater into high-quality #water suitable for irrigating Katara's green spaces and supplying cooling towers. By substituting fresh water with this treated #wastewater, the project drastically reduces water costs and the #energy consumption required to produce clean water.
