All around the world organizations are right now hacked through Checkpoint VPN Gateways/"Firewalls". Checkpoint calls this "Check Point VPN Information Disclosure". Let us translate this Newspeak for you: It means that every Checkpoint VPN Gateway runs an open webserver to the Internet, and anyone from anywhere in the world can read ANY file from the device, including the your account password file! Checkpoint writes: "Successful exploitation of this vulnerability would allow a remote attacker to obtain sensitive information." Successful exploitation? This is the exploit: http://yourcheckpointdevice/clients/MyCRaCSHELL/../../../../../../../{} Yes, that's all. You must be very... challenged... not to be "successful" exploiting this. This is a beginner mistake that a 12 year old PHP programmer might have done in the year 1995. It also means that nobody at Checkpoint ever has done any code review whatsoever. It's just impossible not to see "oh, our webserver is allowed to read ANY file on the whole system".
