20 Years of Virtualware. When Unai Extremo and Sergio Barrera Mayo founded the company in 2003, they had no idea where this journey would take them.

📈 In 2023, we recorded a remarkable 40% increase in total revenue to €4.52 million, just 9 months after our IPO on Euronext Access Paris. 

Growth was driven by increasing adoption of our VRaaS (VR as a Service) subscription plans and our core technology, VIROO, which grew by a remarkable 118.26%.

The VR enterprise platform enables developers worldwide to effortlessly create and deploy cutting-edge virtual reality applications, demonstrating our commitment to innovation. It is currently used by companies on 3 continents, including global conglomerates and public institutions.

Some key highlights:
➡ 35% of annual revenue from VRaaS model.
➡ VIROO services contributed €2.15m, representing 58% of the segment.
➡ Gross profit margin increasing to 81% by 2023.
➡ EBITDA reached €355,000, an increase of 8.47%.

As 2023 drew close, an inspiring event may have slipped under the radar.  Googaz is an initiative dedicated to using technology as a tool to raise awareness and inspire positive change among young people.

The 5th edition of Googaz closed to celebrate the best virtual reality (VR) projects developed with VIROO.  It successfully brought the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) closer to young people.

The initiative has reached out to 6 municipalities and involved 9 educational centers. 566 young people between 16 and 30 explored five different realities: health and well-being, reduction of inequalities, gender equality, sustainable cities and communities, and poverty eradication in VR. 

In the final phase, based on the winning script of the second phase hackathon, Harrobia Ikastola FP, Maristak Durango, and FP Tartanga collaborated to create a virtual reality game using our VR enterprise platform VIROO.

We are proud of the exceptional quality of the participating games. The project winner from CIFP Tartanga will tour the region during the next edition of Googaz.
