Meta's team trained its #Llama 3 405B model on their own in-house cluster of 16,384 NVIDIA #H100 80GB GPUs with #HBM3. The training took 54 days & encountered 419 unexpected component failures, averaging one failure every 3 hours. Half of these failures were due to the HBM3 memory on their GPUs. Despite these challenges, their team maintained over 90% effective training time by implementing various strategies.

Voltage Park takes many lessons from Meta's news. We have a large on-site tech presence at our data centers supported by remote support staff. Our overall operational objective is to ensure all of our customers' challenges are temporary & and painless as possible. We call our time-to-help velocity.
