Wanda Fish is a company that develops cultivated fish products using cell-based technology. The company focuses on creating fish fillets through a process of cell collection, expansion, tissue maturation, and final product formation.

We love fish! 
Fish are highly nutritious, delicious and an important component of our diet. Our goal is to balance the joy of eating fish and all the goodness they provide with the need to protect them and their natural marine habitat. 
Our innovative platform offers a new way of eating fish, sustainably. Wanda Fish grows fish fillets using cell-cultivation practices outside the water.

The problem
As the global population continues to grow, the appetite for seafood likewise is on the upward trajectory. This has placed immense pressure on fisheries globally that are on the verge of collapse. Overfishing and unregulated fishing practices are depleting fish populations and harming ocean ecosystems. This is further compounded by water pollution in the form of plastic waste and industrial spills, which sea life sadly is forced fed on, and which adversely impacts our food web.

How do you like your fish?
Our GMO-free platform allows us to grow thick fish fillets including muscle and fat along with its long- touted beneficial properties of omegas 3’s and protein. We grow a range of fish varieties imbued with the taste, texture and mouthfeel of real fish. Most importantly, we do not harm the fish and protect the oceans’ ecosystem.

Our journey
We established Wanda Fish together with The Kitchen FoodTech Hub of Strauss group late last year. We just started our journey, but don’t worry, we are moving fast forward with new agreements and strong IP.

We commit to producing affordable, high quality fish fillets - without harming fish life, allowing the ocean ecosystem to heal. Our production process will be hygienic, safe and transparent using only nutritious ingredients with environmentally friendly methods. Join our journey! Save the ocean and sea life!  



While this headline appears positive, it's also a reminder that we need to proceed cautiously to avoid returning to dangerously low levels of bluefin tuna. Vigilance in sustainable fishing practices is paramount in order to ensure these efforts align with long-term conservation goals for our marine ecosystem.

We should work collaboratively, all seafood manufacturers (traditional and alternative, such as Maruha Nichiro Corporation, Balfegó, the sustainable bluefin tuna, Pacific Seafood, BlueNalu, AQUA Cultured Foods, Dongwon group ,Good Catch, Nestlé), to have more options on the table for consumers, and in this way preserve and nurture our marine ecosystem 🌊

Shachar graduated Medical Laboratory Sciences (B.Med.Lab.Sc) from Hadassah Academic College in Jerusalem, followed by an MSc in Molecular Genetics & Biochemistry from Tel Aviv University 👨‍🔬 

Shachar also enjoys discovering and imagining new worlds in fantasy books and video games 🎮, while also kicking it in Kung Fu 🥋 and swimming 🏊‍♂️ . 

Recently and in an unexpected move, Shachar started crochet, which he finds as surprisingly fun, as we do too ! 😜 (there is also no emoji for crochet....and you can help us find one for the growing crochet community !)
