LinkedIn is NOT Facebook 😡 Would you just F off with these posts already. Maybe you’re deliberately doing it to wind people up and therefore garner engagement. If so, then you’re a whole other special kind of something. The whole thing stupid for so many reasons. 1️⃣ People used to post business stuff on Facebook all the time before LinkedIn became “trendy”! In fact, many businesses still operate largely through Facebook - so what’s the problem?? 2️⃣ Why is it bad to put personal stuff on here?? It's a PERSONAL brand remember... not a corporate one! DUHHHHHHHH. If it’s all about business, then should I just put fiscal numbers and details about my insurance coverage and proudly state what ISO certifications we have?! PUH-LEASE! 🤦🏽♀️ 3️⃣ You can still post pics of your dog, your kids, your holidays, even your toilet if you want to and still be professional. It’s all about HOW you do it. These “personal branding gurus” are doing my head in and they need to get off their high horses and stop telling people what content they should put out. It’s THEIR lives. Let them live it. And this sort of content is way more authentic than any templated/algorithm BS you suggest. Stop telling people HOW to be authentic and just let them be authentic… whatever that is to them! I suck at creating content. And I really don’t enjoy it. I LOVE writing and doing my podcasts, but pretty much everything else I suck at 😢 So, I’m looking for someone to help me with it! I would like to hire a 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥-𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫. Over the last 2 years, I have spent £46,307.20 on memberships and this is what I got out of them: 😢 Empty promises of all kinds of benefits and intros 👻 Complete ghosting as soon as I paid my membership fees 💰 Pressure to pay thousands for courses that aren’t right for me 💪🏽 Lots of imposter syndrome as members flexed and spewed lots of BS 🍆 Uncomfortable situations where men would have a different agenda for meeting 🕰️ Donating lots of my time to help them better their organisation with no thank you 🎙️ Paying thousands in events to see the same speakers give the same mediocre, prepared talks And when I speak to the other members, this is also their experience. We pay all that money in the hope of meeting some good people, but there’s no facilitation from the organisation itself. Now, don’t get me wrong, some of the places I’ve been a member of are amazing, and I got a lot out of it. I will do some shoutouts next week, as there are good guys out there. 🙌🏽🔥 BUT, there’s too much focus on getting new members and forgetting about making it an unbelievable experience for the 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬. That’s why I’m launching my new club, which will be all about YOU!! What do YOU want out of the membership? What would make it amazing for YOU.
