Every month without fail, my wife and I sit down for a finance “date”. 

I’ve been married to my wife for 7 years. I’ve learned that the key to a healthy financial partnership is open and honest communication about money. 

Money can be a touchy subject, even with those we’re closest to. But the good news is... it doesn’t have to be! 

Why have a finance date? 

During our monthly finance date, we discuss everything from budgeting and savings to investments and reviewing our various goals. It’s our time to align our financial aspirations and ensure we’re on track to achieve them together. 

But here’s the thing. It’s not just about the numbers. It’s about building trust, understanding each other's financial values, and working towards a shared vision of our future. This is especially important to us now we have children.
