4 and final day 🥲 Back to Libreville, Goodbye Lambaréné 🌍 Today we said goodbye to our fellow travel companions as we boarded the bus, leaving the magnificent town of Lambaréné behind. We spent 4 memorable days and 3 nights exploring this beautiful place. 🙌 While most of us were nationals, we were joined by a few wonderful foreigners. It was a revelation for many of us to realise how much of our own country we had yet to discover. The natural and historical wonders we found were simply breathtaking. Each of us will have our own unique stories from this shared adventure. A big thank you to the Ministry of Tourism and its dedicated team for this incredible initiative, the Caravane Touristique. And a special shout out to the Hotel Ogooué Palace for making our stay unforgettable. Time flies 😅 already on to day 3! Topic of the day included: Exploring Chutes de l'Impératrice de Fougamou and Notre-Dame des Trois Épies in Sindara. Today was full of cultural and historical discoveries. We visited the beautiful Chutes de l'Impératrice, located 84 km from Lambaréné. These three stunning waterfalls are surrounded by local legends. The locals shared stories about the falls symbolising three blacksmith genies. Before reaching the falls, we stopped in Sindara. We visited the Notre-Dame des Trois Épies seminary, founded in 1899. The most interesting part was learning that the beams for the seminary came from Paris. They were originally prefabricated for the Eiffel Tower!🗼 It was a day rich in culture and history. Looking forward to our last day tomorrow! ----- Le temps passe vite 😅 nous en sommes déjà au troisième jour ! Le sujet du jour incluait : l'exploration des Chutes de l'Impératrice de Fougamou et de Notre-Dame des Trois Épies à Sindara. La journée a été riche en découvertes culturelles et historiques. Nous avons visité les magnifiques Chutes de l'Impératrice, situées à 84 km de Lambaréné. Ces trois superbes chutes d'eau sont entourées de légendes locales. Les habitants nous ont raconté que les chutes symbolisaient trois génies forgerons. Avant d'atteindre les chutes, nous nous sommes arrêtés à Sindara. Nous avons visité le séminaire Notre-Dame des Trois Épies, fondé en 1899. Le plus intéressant a été d'apprendre que les poutres du séminaire venaient de Paris. Elles avaient été préfabriquées à l'origine pour la Tour Eiffel !🗼 Cette journée a été riche en culture et en histoire. 🚀 Day 2 of the Tourism Caravan: Exploring Middle Ogooué Lakes Our adventure in the Moyen-Ogooué region continues, and today was filled with breathtaking scenery and rich cultural experiences! 1. Visit to Trois Lacs 📸 We explored three beautiful lakes: Azingo, Oguemoue, and Onangue (Gabon’s largest lake). The views were absolutely stunning, and the area is renowned for its incredible biodiversity. A highlight of our visit was observing free-roaming hippos and pelicans in their natural habitat, adding a unique and unforgettable moment to our day. 2. Discovery of Nguomo Village 🏘️ Our journey continued to Nguomo Village, located 50 km from Lambaréné by river. In Nguomo, we visited a remarkable evangelical church dating back to 1800. This church, in operation for over two centuries, stands as a significant witness to the region’s rich religious and historical heritage. This journey through Gabon continues to reveal the country's incredible natural beauty and cultural depth. Stay tuned for more updates from our expedition! ----- 🚀 Jour 2 de la Caravane du Tourisme : Exploration des lacs du Moyen-Ogooué Notre aventure dans la région du Moyen-Ogooué se poursuit, et cette journée a été remplie de paysages à couper le souffle et d'expériences culturelles riches ! 1. Visite des Trois Lacs 📸 Nous avons exploré trois lacs pittoresques : Azingo, Oguemoué et Onangué (le plus grand lac du Gabon). Les vues sont absolument magnifiques, et la région est réputée pour son incroyable biodiversité.
