We've teamed up with developer Morro Partnerships to build 98 energy efficient homes at Shrewsbury. The £16.9m development will feature a mix of family homes, apartments and bungalows for affordable rent and Right to Buy. All the new homes will feature the latest technology to keep residents warmer for longer, while also keeping their energy bills down. This includes a heat recovery system that assists in heating cold water and better insulates the home, as well as the installation of solar panels.

Congratulations to our Energy Advisor Chloe Ramsay who is now a proud recipient of a commsHERO award. Chloe was recognised for her efforts supporting customers impacted by the cost-of-living crisis. Chloe has stepped out of her comfort zone to front a number of campaigns & has taken part in interviews with major media outlets including the BBC and ITV.

From former Hells Angles to journalists - we have some pretty interesting people living on our homes. Last week we welcomed the BBC Midlands Today cameras to Elmwood - our retirement village in Stafford. Resident Peter Underwood is behind 'Years of Life', a series of films capturing some of his neighbours stories. Following a a red carpet premiere, the films will be kept by the Staffordshire Records Office for future generations to see.

The boards of The Wrekin Housing Group and Housing Plus Group have decided to take the next steps towards a formal merger. The formal merger is expected to take place in January 2025 when all the legal and regulatory requirements have been completed, at which time The Wrekin Housing Group will become part of the new Housing Plus Group. Leading the new organisation will be Wayne Gethings who has been appointed the Chief Executive Designate of the new Housing Plus Group. Wayne will work alongside Catherine Dass who has been appointed the Chair Designate and Debbie Griffiths who will be the Senior Independent Director and Vice Chair.

We joined our development partner Keon Homes Limited in welcoming Mark Pritchard, MP for The Wrekin, to Queenswood - our 70-apartment extra which is nearing completion in Newport.

We've published our latest ESG Report - highlighting our continued commitment to tackle climate change, deliver social value & make a difference to people's lives.
