At Zayn Capital we are building for the next generation. 

Founded by Faisal Chowdhry, an ex-Goldman Sachs lifer, in 2020, Zayn Capital has been focused on investing, advising and helping to structure transactions across the UK and Emerging Markets.  

Today, Zayn Capital provides access to scalable credit solutions for Fintech and embedded finance lending platforms in emerging markets to increase access to capital in a fair and transparent way.

Our goal is to spur growth in emerging economies by focusing on providing financing for responsible, fair and sustainable lending, all while aiming for impactful returns for our investors.



With #Eid fast approaching, it's hard not to notice the sheer amount of livestock getting ready for the big day!

It also begs the question: how do farmers #finance livestock?  How could access to credit effect the velocity of capital in the direction of farmers?

Some interesting facts:
	• Last year, Pakistanis spent a staggering $2.5 billion on sacrificial animals for Eid ul Adha
	• Most of the sacrificial animals come from local farms and villages across Pakistan. These animals are raised by rural farmers who depend on livestock as a primary source of income. 
	• Often cattle are purchased by middlemen and traders from farms which allows the farmers to liquidate their assets.

The fintech ecosystem in Pakistan today is primed for disruption. Over the past couple of years we have witnessed new solutions arising to solve for inclusion and access.

We believe that every invention has a legacy of innovation behind it that allows us to continue creating greater impact. Keeping that in mind, we decided to look back at the regulations introduced by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and the early success of fintech startups -  such as Easypaisa (Telenor Microfinance Bank Limited), JazzCash and Keenu - to understand that legacy of impact. This is a retrospective on the early years of disruption, from 2008-2018.

Friday Gratitude.

Besides pure good old fintech lending to consumers and businesses, we have been exploring private credit opportunities in embedded finance lending, which is often industry or vertical specific, and can help create a broader reach for credit.

Embedded finance seamlessly integrates financial services into non-financial platforms and apps to provide convenient access to financial products and services within everyday activities or business processes.

For instance, Trukkr a fintech platform for logistics, provides carriers with loans for their business directly within their logistics platform.  

Another example is iFarmer  a technology company based in Bangladesh, which integrates financial services into its platform to facilitate credit for farmers.

Other examples of embedded finance include embedded banking, where non-financial platforms are provided with the ability to give their customers access to financial services, such as cards, bank accounts, lending and payments.  For example, Neem!
