Exciting news unveiled at the MRO event in Amsterdam! ZeroAvia have joined forces with Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance to prepare the global aircraft maintenance sector for the era of hydrogen-electric planes. 

As part of the partnership, we will conduct in-depth research into the technical training needs and processes essential for the technicians and mechanics who will be responsible for retrofitting and servicing fleets equipped with this cutting edge technology. 

This commitment assures that zero-emission aircraft will be a reality on commercial routes within the next few years, marking a significant step forward for truly clean aviation.

We were delighted to host the UK’s Aviation Minister Baroness Vere of Norbiton at ZeroAvia’s UK R&D hub at Cotswold Airport last Friday. 

The Minister was given a tour of our state of the art fuel cell and electric motor testing and build labs and was also shown two aircraft that have made aviation history in the UK – the Piper Malibu 6-seat aircraft that became the world’s largest hydrogen fuel cell-powered aircraft when first flown in 2020, and the 19-seat Dornier 228 testbed which then broke that record and now has ten test flights under its belt. Pictured is Gabriele Teofili, UK Managing Director leading the Minister and her team around our historic World War Two era hangar.  
 
Baroness Vere also met with ZeroAvia fuel cell engineer Daniela M. Agachi, who is one of the Department for Transport’s Aviation Ambassadors as part of the Generation Aviation programme, working to inspire more young people to take up a career in aviation.
 
With the #JetZero Strategy focused on a 2040 net zero domestic aviation target, hydrogen-electric engines are a crucial enabler. As we work with the regulator through certification and head towards manufacturing, it is great to have the interest and support of the UK Government in the vital mission of tackling aviation’s climate emissions.
