Ziegler acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Bethesda Senior Living on the sale of an assisted living community in Grand Junction, Colorado. The community was purchased by Cornerstone Management in conjunction with a private real estate fund, although the sale price was not disclosed.

Christian was accused of rape by a woman involved in a three-way relationship with the Zieglers. The scandal led to their ousting from their respective positions at the Florida GOP and the conservative Leadership Institute.
