Cyclize is a spin-off of the University of Stuttgart, specializing in plasma-based technology for defossilizing the chemical industry using mixed plastic waste and CO2 as feedstock to produce syngas. This syngas serves as the basic building block of advanced chemicals and is used to produce plastics, methanol, hydrogen, and e-fuels.

As a spin-off of the University of Stuttgart, Cyclize has developed a technology for defossilizing the chemical industry using mixed plastic waste and CO2 as feedstock to produce syngas (a gas mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen). This syngas serves as the basic building block of advanced chemicals and is used to produce plastics, methanol, hydrogen, and e-fuels. As of now, syngas is still obtained through the linear use of fossil resources such as natural gas. Our innovative plasma-based process allows us to replace fossil resources with waste materials, thus enabling the carbon circular economy and avoiding hundreds of megatons of CO2 annually by 2050.

Exciting News! 💥 Cyclize had the honor of meeting Robert Habeck, Germany's Vice-Chancellor & Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
 
This week our Co-Founder & CEO Maike Lambarth had the incredible opportunity to join the discussion about innovative solutions for combating #climatechange and shaping a #sustainablefuture together with a small group of inspiring fellow founders. As one of these startups, we are committed to enabling a circular economy of carbon and defossilizing the chemical industry using mixed plastic waste and CO2. Together we strengthened the importance of setting reliable political guidelines and conditions for investment decisions made by the industry, including startups, established companies and investors. This includes topics such as industrial electricity price, CO2 certificate price, recycling labeling of carbon-containing waste, and financing high capital expenditures for scaling hardware solutions.
