The Association of German Guarantee Banks (VDB) is an umbrella organization that represents the interests of 17 guarantee banks and 15 SME-oriented investment companies in Germany. It advocates for these institutions towards the government, politicians, industry, and the public, both domestically and at the European level through its membership in the European Association of Guarantee Institutions (AECM). The VDB's member organizations provide financial support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups through guarantees for loans and the provision of equity capital, thereby facilitating access to finance for businesses in various stages of growth and development.
