New year, new packages 📦😍 

Have you ever wondered how our beauty favorites are delivered to our customers? Our packaging is designed to beautify the customer experience to the max. Previously this led to high material costs and longer processing times, which we wanted to improve while still keeping a nice look and feel for our customers.

Together with PAXLY, a software company with focus on optimized packaging purchasing, and THIMM, our supplier, we gave our packaging a makeover to bring a new efficient and beautiful design to life.🥳

While analyzing a lot of data, checking out various construction drafts and materials and doing multiple packing tests we finally made our decision for three main changes: 

📦 Construction: With the same material we found a much quicker build up feature to save time. And thanks to the flaconi Graphics team the design on the outside stayed as beautiful as before. 
📏 Sizes: The analysis of order data showed that different customized sizes are needed. The sizes were adapted to avoid using big packages for small items.
📩 Inlays: Every package size has inlays for better product protection that are easier to integrate than “standard” paper filling.

All these changes led to significantly faster processing times for our flaconis in Halle: Each employee is now packing about 100 more packages per day. 😱 With these massive changes in construction and the associated lower use of material helps us to decrease our CO2 consumption by about 30 %. What a success!

Goodbye 2023 and Hello 2024 🌟

Before we start the new year at full speed we like to take a moment to look back to a successful 2023 and celebrate the accomplishments we achieved together as a team. Regarding our no. 1 goal to become the go to place for beauty and fragrance we hit some great numbers in the past year. Here are some fun facts for you:

🚀 We onboarded 440 new brands with more than 11k new products
🚀 LANCÔME and Yves Saint Laurent were the most popular brands
🚀 Bremen had the highest average basket value 
🚀 On Black Friday we witnessed 1.24M visitors on flaconi.de
🚀 We had a total of 213 new people joining flaconi

This list could go on and on as each of our teams achieved new goals and surpassed themselves on a daily basis. So the most important thing we like to keep on top of our new year’s resolution list is the bond with all of our flaconis. The hard work, dedication and motivation stays unmatched and makes all these successes possible. A BIG thank you to all flaconis for your commitment in the past year and we are looking forward to an even greater 2024 together. 😍

It’s tiiiiiime 🎄❣️

The most wonderful time of the year is in full swing and we at flaconi can not get enough of the winter mood. Whether it’s mulled wine and cookies in the office, team Christmas parties, packing gifts together or cute decorations - we did it all! 

Our office and warehouse in Halle of course became true winter wonderlands with beautiful decorations. We had a fun Christmas tree decoration contest where every floor in our headquarter decorated a tree and especially one tree won our hearts (check it out and swipe below 🌈). As our flaconis are true foodies we had to also do a gingerbread house decoration contest and our team in Halle baked 40 kg worth of Christmas cookies in a local bakery 🍪

A lot of teams had some nice get-togethers, as well. Our creative department for example came together for a cozy evening with a secret santa activity and a super fun Christmas bingo and the People & Culture team did a nice cocktail and cooking workshop with a winterly menu.

On top of that, the management board and leadership team came together to pack over 400 presents for all flaconis. WOW! But we did not only pack something for us, we also had the chance to help pack gifts for children in need thanks to our “Your flaconis care” group  and the Samaritan's Purse project “Operation Christmas Child” (Weihnachten im Schuhkarton).

What a wonderful time of the year! We would like to thank all of our flaconis and also our business partners for their support and dedication this year. We wish everyone wonderful holidays, a relaxing time off, cozy days with your family and friends and a happy new year ❤️

More than a scent - our own fragrance workshop with 4711 😍

The year is coming to an end and we had a grand finale of our #BeautyInhouse format with a special masterclass. The traditional and iconic brand 4711, as part of our partner supplier MÄURER & WIRTZ GmbH & Co. KG, took us on a very special journey through the impressive history of fragrance expertise and passion. 

4711 is associated with the iconic “Kölnisch Wasser” and familiar scents from childhood. But today the brand is still evolving and setting new trends: While keeping the tradition and spirit from 1792 alive, their new product lines and prestige fragrances are giving their iconic scents new life. 

In an extraordinary workshop our flaconis had the chance to bring their very own creations to life, as well. With lots of different essences like pink pepper, bergamot, wood or lavender each flaconi first smelled their favorite combinations and with the help of the 4711 experts mixed them into their own perfume. With a dedicated flaconi flacon and an official certificate everyone left the event with a unique treasure in their hands and a big smile on their faces.

Thank you to the 4711 team Heiko Schankin, Nadine Knapp, Linh Nguyen, Eva Maria Stiller and Frederic Schuckert for hosting this great fragrance workshop for our flaconis and to our PR & Communications team for the organization. We are already in love with all of the self-made scents. 😍

An olfactory journey with KENZO 🌸 

Last week we had another wonderful edition of our #BeautyInhouse initiative and welcomed the Parisian brand KENZO Parfums in our HQ. We kicked off the masterclass with a short brand introduction to learn more about the brand, its values and products. With a mission to make the world a more beautiful place, KENZO has always been committed to protecting nature and its beauty. Flowers symbolize the brand's values: love of nature, youth, optimism, joy and openness.

Afterwards, our flaconis were able to explore the world of KENZO at three different workshop stations: During the Fragrance Discovery Workshop Jérémy CHAILLOT and Luisa Heusel led us through the ingredients of the fragrances and explained the sustainability concept of the brand and its products. The second station was all about Furoshikis - the Japanese art of sustainable packaging that was transformed into a small wrapping contest. The last station was a flower workshop, where the flaconis learned everything about the Japanese art of flower arranging, Ikebana, by creating their own little flower arrangements that they could take home. 💐 

A big thank you to the KENZO Team for organizing this amazing experience, especially to Mariam Doost, Jérémy CHAILLOT, Luisa Heusel, Christina Fanakidou, Estelle Céline Stamm, Anne Rahn and Stephan Haumesser. 

By the way, did you know that poppies are actually scentless and KENZO has given the flowers their own scent with its perfume? We love 😍

Creative Session - Valentine’s Day here we come ❣️

From a content planning perspective, Christmas is already looong behind us. What event is next on our agenda? Right: Valentine’s Day. 😍

Tackling campaign planning in a cross-functional approach is daily business for us. But since the Valentine’s Day event campaign is the first of our 5 focus topics in 2024, its preparation gets some extra love: In an onsite interactive working session with representatives from the CRM, Campaign, Social Media, Copywriting, Art and Editorial Content teams, we approached this seasonal topic and our role as flaconi on this occasion. We used various creative workshop methods to find a common voice for all our communicative measures and could not be happier with the outcome of this very productive and collaborative day.

Big thanks especially to Jana Reinecke, Head of Creative, for leading this workshop and to all involved teams for being part of this session and for sharing their thoughts and ideas and getting flaconi ready for Valentine’s Day. Stay tuned for the results - we are already looking forward to THE day of love.

An exciting Black Week lies behind us 🖤

Our flaconis have been preparing and looking forward to this week for months, and their hard work has really paid off. We are so proud of each and every one of our flaconis for making this Black Week such a success. We also want to give an extra huge shout out & THANK YOU to our flaconis in our warehouse Polarstern in Halle. Without their passionate and hard work over the last week and beyond, none of this would have been possible. 🚀📦

To ensure that our flaconis get through this busy week with lots of energy, even more team spirit and, of course, a good mood, we had some special highlights last week that we would like to share with you: Throughout the week we started every morning with a stand up by our commercial team, sharing the latest performance insights, followed by "Andrea's Haul of Fame", the shopping recommendations of the day by our lovely Andrea Wedig – A really special format that put a big smile on our faces every morning. There were also various special treats such as delicious breakfasts, crazy spluffins, wraps and a full candy bar. But the highlight of the week was of course Black Friday, where we celebrated a successful Black Week with music, fancy drinks & Mexican food. 

It's been an incredible week, and with December just around the corner, we're kicking off the final shopping countdown of the year full of energy and joy! 🎄

Give me FAME - The DUFTSTAR of 2023 😎🌟

The seductive scent FAME by Paco Rabanne wins this year’s DUFTSTARS award for the category “Prestige Women”.

We celebrated the DUFTSTARS award show again at our Flaconi Store in Berlin Mitte as the partners of the category “Prestige Women” and had a fabulous night with our flaconis and guests. We were honored to hand the award to the Paco Rabanne (Puig) representative Tina R. Welsch together with host Alina Merkau, our Flaconi Store manager Hans-Joerg Reuse and of course, as a Berlin company, a special guest: the Berlin Bear 🐻🎉

The celebrations did not stop in Berlin, because our CEO Bastian Siebers and CCO Dorit Posdorf were on-site in Düsseldorf at the award show with industry and partners and all of the well deserved winners.

“Wir haben sie alle … und du kannst sie online shoppen” (“We have them all ... and you can shop them online”) — Today marks the start of Black Week and thus our most important sales phase of the year, we are celebrating the launch of another flaconi TV commercial today.  📺💄

The spot announces the beauty deals of the year and focuses on product excellence and a clear message that emphasizes the benefits of online shopping. The new flaconi TV spot will be broadcasted on ProSiebenSat.1 Group stations throughout the whole Black Week. You can find the link to the new commercial in the comments. The 10-second spot was developed by the flaconi Brand & Media Management team Anna-Louisa Nündel, Jessica Hauch, Theresa Pebbles Hauck, Lyudmila L. and Rosa Biging together with the Hamburg production agency The Marmalade. A big thank you to the entire team and all people involved.
