Matthias Steffen and Juri Rohde were guests at Oost NL, an economic development agency in the eastern Netherlands. FUSE-AI intends to operate internationally and has become aware of Oost-NL in this context. Our core competence lies in the ability to transfer AI innovations into the economic cycle. We utilize the expertise of experienced scientists and transform their knowledge into economically valuable, certified products. With a Science Hub, we aim to focus more on developing market-ready AI products and solutions that are scientifically sound. The FUSE-AI Science Hub will thus serve to advance technological integration between industry and research and to provide solutions that benefit the country. As a first step, we explored the various possibilities at the Health Valley event on March 21, 2024, in Nijmegen. As a second step, we have at June 27, 2024, been introduced to the following institutions: Technical Medical Centre | University of Twente, MST Hospital in Enschede, NovelT, the incubator of the University of Twente, Kennispark. FUSE-AI beteiligt sich an der Initiative IHE. „Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise” (IHE) ist eine Initiative von Fachleuten aus dem Gesundheitswesen und der Industrie, die darauf abzielt, die Art und Weise zu verbessern, wie Computersysteme im Gesundheitswesen Informationen austauschen. IHE entwickelt Richtlinien und unterstützt einen Testprozess und andere Aktivitäten, um die Umsetzung von Standards zu fördern, die die Kommunikation zwischen solchen Systemen ermöglichen. FUSE-AI hat sich dieser Initiative angeschlossen. Der IHE Plugathon AI Radiology Track vom 3.-7. Juni 2024 in Triest war eine Veranstaltung zur Testimplementierung von KI-gestützten Arbeitsabläufen unter Verwendung der Systeme der teilnehmenden Anbieter, wie von den Teilnehmern der Plugathon-Planungssitzungen vereinbart. Die aus diesen Testimplementierungen gewonnenen Erkenntnisse fließen direkt in den Standardisierungsprozess zur Erstellung neuer IHE-Integrationsprofile und/oder zur Änderung bestehender Profile oder anderer zugrunde liegender Standards wie DICOM und HL7 ein. T-Systems distributes AI-based Radiology Software Prostate.Carcinoma.ai Radiology clinics and practices in Switzerland can now obtain the AI-based software " Prostate.Carcinoma.ai " from FUSE-AI centrally through T-Systems Schweiz , which assists radiologists in analyzing prostate MR images. The companies have signed a corresponding cooperation agreement. Healthcare facilities benefit from the industry and technology know-how of two experienced players. The software is available on T-Systems' Swiss Open Telekom Cloud, a community cloud exclusively tailored to the special security and data protection requirements of the Swiss market, or as an on-premise solution. The software seamlessly integrates as a plug-in into existing PACS systems. "This makes the application particularly user-friendly. On stage, Engelbert Beyer from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Professor @ Esfandiar Mohammadi from the University of Lübeck, Matthias Marx, spokesperson for the Chaos Computer Club, Christian Zimmermann, senior expert for cybersecurity at Bosch, and Matthias Steffen debated. The discussion benefited tremendously from the interdisciplinary composition of participants from politics, business, and research, enabling a focused dialogue and exchange across boundaries. We celebrate the " Prostate.Carcinoma.ai " integration 🥂 Mint Medical's exhibition booth is very attractive: the interest in the Mint LesionTM upgrade for analyzing MRI images of the prostate based on AI is huge. Our (EU) MDR-certified AI software is seamlessly integrated into Mint LesionTM (like a plug-in). This simplifies image analysis for radiologists in their trusted software. The prostate, its zones and suspicious lesions are automatically segmented in each slice and volumes are calculated. Our results are suggested and can also be adjusted by radiologists before they are included into the report.
