The aim is to improve the general conditions for companies and founders of the games value chain in the city, to support them in their further development and to anchor Hamburg in the public perception as one of the leading games locations in Germany. Gamecity Hamburg is the contact point for Hamburg&#39;s games funding as well as the Games Lift Incubator and also offers programs, events, and services in close cooperation with the games industry to strengthen local developers.

Our Games Lift trio Triflgard has set quite a few goals with their multiplayer game "Pubcrawler," in which players navigate and operate a wandering pub through a wasteland, and keep it running. After they met and found each other at the HAW, the ideas flowed, and working together became second nature. European companies and studios can apply for the Creative Europe Video Games and Immersive Content Development funding until February 12, 2025. You can get up to 200,000 euros (60% of eligible costs) for the development of narrative games or interactive projects or prototypes. Applicants need a commercially exploited reference project (this project does not need to be narrative), published between January 1, 2021 and the application date. From this year on, the "Press Start: Games start-up scholarship" will support up to 130 game developers in establishing their studios, created by the game - German Games Industry Association in cooperation with Stiftung Digitale Spielekultur and funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media. You can apply from October 28 to November 17, 2024.
