We delved into the world of private equity, analyzing an information memorandum and presenting our offer for ABC Grills to the investment committee. It was an enriching experience filled with learning and networking. Huge thanks to Invision AG for this fantastic opportunity!

🚀 Successful Workshop with Invision AG at the University of Cologne ! 🚀 Yesterday, we had the pleasure of participating in a unique workshop with Invision AG , a leading private equity firm for medium-sized companies in the DACH region with over €1 billion in assets under management. The workshop began with an introduction of the Invision AG team, followed by an in-depth analysis of an information memorandum. Participants had the chance to gain practical insights into the world of private equity and demonstrate their skills by working on this memorandum. The primary task was to submit an offer for ABC Grills and present it to the investment committee. This involved considering several key factors such as the strategic rationale, the enterprise value on a debt-free and cash-free basis, the deal structure, the percentage stake sought, and the payment terms. The session concluded with a presentation of the results, showcasing the hard work and dedication of all participants. We wrapped up this insightful day with a delightful get-together at Restaurant II Bagutta. Yesterday, we hosted an exclusive networking event with Carlsquare at the University of Cologne for aspiring investment bankers. Participants engaged in a realistic debt advisory case study, taking on roles as stakeholders: Shareholder, Bank (Debt Provider), and CEO (Management). They tackled a complex Recapitalisation scenario, where a Private Equity shareholder sought a dividend funded by debt during the portfolio company's holding period. Participants discussed conflicts of interest among stakeholders, assessed the target company's creditworthiness, and explored debt market limitations. They negotiated key elements like dividend amount, interest margin, tenor, and covenants. The event culminated in group presentations, with Carlsquare providing valuable feedback and insights based on real-life transactions. This event offered practical experience, valuable connections, and insights into careers in investment banking to our participants. Our 12 selected participants showcased their analytical prowess by examining a potential acquisition of Cewe, a leading European photo service and online printing partner. Each group created a comprehensive Commercial Due Diligence, including a SWOT analysis and Equity Story, and developed a detailed financial model. The presentations were impressive, highlighting the high level of strategic thinking within our club.
