QuantumDiamonds is a semiconductor manufacturing company that provides characterized nitrogen-vacancy (NV) diamonds for quantum sensing. They have developed atom-sized quantum sensors in diamonds that function under the hardest conditions. Their quantum sensing technology involves solid-state qubits embedded within diamonds known as the nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center, which breaks physical barriers in regard to spatial resolution and sensitivity unmatchable by classical sensors. QuantumDiamonds' products and services include NV-Diamond technology, characterization services, and material description. They have a diverse team with a combined research experience of more than 20 years, working towards making the invisible visible.

QuantumDiamonds provides characterized nitrogen-vacancy (NV) diamonds for quantum sensing to industrial and academic customers. 

As a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), we leverage our multiyear experience in nitrogen doping, vacancy creation, acid cleaning, and temperature treatment to create NV diamonds with the required quantum properties our customers require.

We work with our customers on applications such as magnetic widefield imaging, surface NMR and single NVs.

🔬 Research update: Excited to share an innovative research paper using quantum sensors in the semiconductor domain, conducted at Sandia National Laboratories in the US! 🇺🇸

🔌 As the field of electrical engineering advances with complex integrated-circuit (IC) geometry and packaging, troubleshooting challenges are on the rise. To meet these challenges, powerful failure-analysis (FA) methods are essential. In their latest work, the team at Sandia Labs investigates a cutting-edge electronics FA method using a quantum diamond microscope (QDM) to image magnetic fields from short-circuit faults.

🔍 The research team quantified the performance of this method by successfully detecting short-circuit faults in a multilayer silicon die. But that's not all! The study also explores the potential of a QDM to detect faults in a heterogeneously integrated (HI) die stack.

🌟 The findings suggest that quantum sensing magnetic imaging can become a highly competitive technique for electronics FA. Offering exceptional spatial resolution, high sensitivity, and robust instrumentation, this approach is poised to revolutionize the way we troubleshoot chip-stack ICs with multiple metal layers, optically opaque layers, or optically scattering layers.

Diamonds are not only a girl's best friend, but they may also revolutionize quantum computing and communication 🔐

De Beers' Element Six (Matthew, Daniel), a renowned diamond company, will produce artificial diamonds for Amazon Web Services (AWS) to support quantum networking and security.

AWS scientists believe that defects in diamonds, such as the NV colour centres, could be the basis for quantum repeaters, which enable entanglement to be distributed over significant distances. These diamond-based qubits have unique properties, such as spin memory and robustness, that make them ideal for quantum networking and communications. 👨💻
