🌱 Exciting News in Football and Sustainability 🌍

MOSS.Earth, a climate tech leader, and C.A. Osasuna  a historic Spanish football club, have united for a groundbreaking partnership that sets new standards for #sustainability in #sports. 🤝

Moss, known for its dedication to preserving the Brazilian Amazon and its carbon credit platform, is now Osasuna's official 'Global Sustainability Partner.' We will offset the club's 2023 carbon footprint and work towards reducing and offsetting the 2024 footprint. 🌳

This initiative includes measuring and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions from Osasuna's activities, including El Sadar stadium and Tajonar Sports Complex. Moss will calculate the carbon inventory and neutralize emissions with Amazon conservation credits. 🌿

But that's not all! Osasuna fans can also purchase carbon credits to offset their club merchandise and match tickets, promoting a sustainable lifestyle. 

Together, Moss and Osasuna aim to raise awareness and organize events within their community. 🌏

Transparency is key – we'll share their actions and carbon offset details on their websites, setting an example for European football. 👏

As well as our record of the brilliant representation we had there with Cláudia Backes, Moss’ COO; Daniel Horle, Technical Director; and Renan Rizzardo, Product Manager.

It is an immense honor to have experienced the debate around fighting the climate crisis. Although it is necessary to talk about the problem, we are proud to highlight effective solutions that involve technology, innovation, and efficiency as a contribution to reversing this situation.

1. Article Six Negotiation Progress: A comprehensive update on ongoing negotiations related to Article Six of the Paris Agreement. Highlighting the push for operationalizing international cooperation mechanisms, particularly Article 6.2, addressing the transfer of emission reductions. Detailed discussions on transparency, avoiding double counting, and environmental integrity. Insightful views from an African perspective, emphasizing the role of digital technology in ensuring credibility and transparency in global climate efforts.

2. Challenges in Carbon Origination: The panel emphasized the need for innovative solutions in carbon origination processes, highlighting the current use of outdated tools and manual practices. Automation and AI were identified as potential game-changers to enhance efficiency.

3. Transparency and Trust: Transparency emerged as a crucial factor for success in the carbon market. From data management to community engagement, the speakers underscored the importance of transparent processes, bringing confidence to investors and local communities alike. The discussion emphasized the evolving commitments, especially in governance, as a key step toward building a robust and trustworthy carbon market.

AI in Climate Action: Exploring the role of AI in climate discussions, the focus is on leveraging geospatial data, generative AI, and language translation tools to enhance carbon credit validation and streamline climate-related processes. Addressing challenges, the emphasis is on AI as a supportive tool, not a replacement, and the need to bridge the digital divide for effective implementation.

5. Standards and Challenges in AI for Climate: A discussion on the standards for data collection and model training in climate-focused AI models, touching on open-source data, proprietary data, and licensing standards. The challenge of language barriers in climate workshops is highlighted, with insights into tools like Climate GPT addressing translation issues and the importance of open standards for climate data.

They work with carbon credits generated by projects that preserve the Amazon Forest, with positive externalities such as job creation and biodiversity preservation. MOSS has tokenized their carbon credits using blockchain technology for transparency, security, and to avoid double spending. Their MCO2 token allows individuals to purchase carbon credits and actively participate in the fight against climate change.
