Last week I joined CORFO | Chilean Economic Development Agency and a delegation of Chilean companies in a prospective mission to #Vancouver to support partnerships between #Chilean and #Canadian companies to develop joint R&D projects. I had the privilege of presenting InvestChile 's role in attracting #FDI into Chile, as well as the sectors Chile is actively promoting, with a focus in #energy , #mining and #cleantech . We could learn from Andrew Bauder and James McKinnell about NRC´s Industrial Research Assistance Program and the Clean Energy Innovation Research Centre´s contribution to accelerate Canada's transition to a net-zero economy. We had also the chance to visit Teck Resources Limited and learn about its #innovation strategy, as well as Powertech Labs Inc. facilities, one of the largest testing and #research labs in North America. We also visited BRIMM - University of British Columbia , where we learned from researchers and companies on how #academia works hand by hand with the #privatesector to develop new solutions to address the challenges of the future. Lastly, we visited Tersa Earth , where Stewart Muir and Elesha Hoffarth, PhD presented the company and their #Canadabased solutions for the mining industry.
