The Denver Seminary Board of Trustees has appointed Dr. Mark Husbands as the Seminary’s eighth president, effective January 1, 2025. “We believe God has divinely prepared Dr. Husbands for this season of our mission,” said Elisa Morgan, chair of Denver Seminary’s Board of Trustees. “His life and work resonate deeply with Denver Seminary’s commitment to biblical truth, academic rigor, and social responsibility.” Dr. Husbands, a respected theologian, leader, and educator in Christian higher education, succeeds Dr. Mark Young, who retires on December 31 after fifteen years of outstanding service. “And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with God.” These words from Micah 6:8 not only call followers of Christ to pursue justice, but also express the heart of God for justice. Why is justice work so difficult to pursue together? How can we engage in conversations that arise in broader society on difficult topics about race in a way that honors God. Dr. Patty Pell, assistant professor of Theology, Justice, and Advocacy and executive director of The Gospel Initiative, will be part of a diverse group of guests for a virtual roundtable on November 14, at 2pm MT. Together they will explore how Christians can pursue justice together and model how believers can engage differences through respectful conversation. This webinar is co-hosted by the National Association of Evangelicals and Denver Seminary, and is free of charge, but registration is required. "Dr. Allen Yeh is a brilliant professor, author, and missiologist, and he will be a wonderful addition to the Denver Seminary community. I could not be more delighted to partner with him." Dr. Timothy Koller, associate dean of academic affairs and director of the Leadership program Denver Seminary welcomes Dr. Allen Yeh as the creative director for the Young Adult Initiative. Dr. Yeh brings years of experience as a professor, author, and missiologist, with impactful contributions to organizations like Urbana and the Lausanne Congress Younger Leader Gatherings. Dr. Yeh will lead the YAI administrative directors in their research on effective strategies to engage, disciple, and mobilize young adults in ministry.

Nearly forty ministers, students, and alumni attended our Minister Appreciation Lunch in DC last weekend, celebrating the partnership between First Baptist Church of Glenarden and Denver Seminary. During this time, attendees heard messages from Denver Seminary President Dr. Mark Young and Dr. John Moreland, Director of Black Church Programs.
