Associate Director for Translational Research, Dr. Maria E. Figueroa plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between research and clinical applications. At Sylvester, part of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine , she connects researchers both within the institution and beyond, fostering collaborations that bring scientific discoveries closer to patient care. In addition to her leadership role, Dr. Figueroa is a professor of biochemistry and molecular biology, with a research focus on cancer and epigenetics.
