Rivers warmly thanked state legislators, county council members and donors for their generosity, commitment and belief in the college's mission to transform lives and strengthen communities.

PTC Presidential Ambassador Princetta Richmond has an amazing - and inspiring - comeback story. She endured 11 surgeries in nine years after being hit by a forklift at work. Now this determined grandmother is close to earning an Associate in Applied Science degree with a major in Human Services. Along the way, she has strived to help others as a volunteer for at least six organizations, including the Hope Pantry on the Greenwood campus. PTC President Dr. Hope E. Rivers spoke Wednesday at the Leadership Greenwood Class of 2024 graduation ceremony. This year's class included five members of PTC's staff and faculty. Those in the photo, from left, include Laura Dudley, interim executive director of the PTC Foundation; Caroline Chappell, associate vice president for executive affairs; Dr. Rivers; Courtney Smith, criminal justice instructor; Bonnie Graham, assistant director of enrollment operations; and Susan Hendricks, career planning coordinator. Leadership Greenwood is an annual program organized by the Greenwood SC Chamber of Commerce. Its mission is to enhance participants' awareness, knowledge and understanding of community issues, thereby preparing them to address vital challenges and contribute actively to the advancement of Greenwood County.

We've been offering Dual Enrollment classes for years, and thousands of high school students have benefited from cost savings and getting a head start on college. Yet, some misconceptions still exist. Let’s clear them up: Myth: Only top students can enroll. Fact: Dual Enrollment is open to high school juniors and seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Myth: It’s costly. Fact: Dual Enrollment is designed to be affordable to all students. South Carolina residents attend tuition-free if they take at least six credit hours per semester (generally at least two classes) at their high school, on campus or online.
