Founded in 1794, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary is a graduate theological school rooted in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and committed to relationships of mutual learning and serving with Christ-followers from other traditions and theological viewpoints. The Director of the Center for Adaptive and Innovative Ministry (AIM) is a creative thought leader in adaptive ministries and faithful innovation and a skilled collaborator who will collaborate in developing ecosystems that can nurture faithful innovation and adaptive ministry, cultivating resources and learning communities for revitalizing congregations, and forming new faith communities. The Director of the Miller Summer Youth Institute (SYI) has two areas of responsibility: initiative/project management & relationship management. This position will be responsible for identifying, leading and developing new partnerships which will expand the reach of SYI, and help move the advancement work SYI onto platforms to reach future attendees.

PTS President Asa Lee shared the following with the PTS community on Friday: “In just a few days we will be participating in the culminating acts of the 2024 election season. Some of us have already cast our vote while others of us will wait until this coming Tuesday. Our collective participation in the democratic process is an important responsibility in governing our society. We have all noticed, however, that each quadrennial period of presidential election cycles has found us more and more frayed in our national discourse. We have, in recent years, become increasingly challenged in the ways we communicate with each other all the while becoming more anxious as a country about “the other” in our discourse. If you are like me, you have, for the sake of your own health, turned off the news and turned away from social media from time to time. It is hard to be surrounded by such energy and not be influenced by it. Our relationships in our families, friendships, neighborhoods, and even our churches have been impacted by our national anxiety and fervor. I can understand better how the Corinthian or Galatian churches struggled with the societal influences of their day. Today, we remember those whose lives were lost Oct. 27, 2018, in the shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue. As these congregations remember, rebuild, and renew through the building of the 10/27 Memorial, Museum and Education Center, and Institute for Countering Hate & Antisemitism, our hearts and prayers continue to go out to our neighbors in Jewish communities. Together, we will continue to be #StrongerThanHate .
