MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: UTEP's Paydirt Promise, a program that covers the cost of tuition and mandatory fees for eligible students, will now help students whose families make up to $100,000 a year starting in the Fall 2025 semester. ⛏️ This expansion of the Paydirt Promise follows a decision by The University of Texas System Board of Regents to provide additional funding for the program, increasing the threshold that will make hundreds of additional students eligible. A study commissioned by the Texas legislature has found that a law school at UTEP could fill a gap in the region’s and state’s need for legal services. UTEP President Heather Wilson revealed the study's findings at meeting today of the El Paso Bar Association. “There will be a law school in El Paso someday.
