Many people decide to shift their career path after attending college. However, for aspiring healthcare professionals, meeting the requirements for medical school can be daunting. UVM’s Post-Bacc Pre-Med program allows individuals to gain specific credits required to qualify for doctorate programs taught in person or online, through UVM's College of Arts and Sciences and Larner College of Medicine. Zach Martin decided to pursue an MD after experiencing sudden health complications. The time he spent in medical care facilities motivated him to enter the field and push for systemic change in the healthcare system. Through UVM's program, Zach earned the required credits he needed to apply and gain acceptance to med school. Today, Zach is on his way to getting an MD and a JD. UVM's Post-Bacc Pre-Med program is celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2024. Over the past three decades, the program has been a beacon of success for 4,000 aspiring medical professionals, boasting an impressive 83% medical school matriculation rate.
