🌱 Toms Nāburgs, the Country Manager of Sunly in Latvia and head of the Latvian Wind Energy Association, together with representatives from other renewable energy sector companies, met with the Klimata un enerģētikas ministrija/Ministry of Climate and Energy to discuss amendments to the local Electricity Market Law with the aim of balancing the interests of market participants and achieving the introduction of sustainable regulation. 

💡 The discussion emphasized the need for regulatory changes to prevent non-viable projects from 🔒 blocking transmission system capacity, ensuring that capable and committed developers can effectively contribute to Latvia’s renewable energy goals.

We invite experts from various fields, including energy specialists and urban planners, to think about where the electricity for our homes will come from in the future and how far off that future really is.

💡 In the discussion, "Landscapes Changing with Renewable Energy" we will analyze the paradox where a large portion of people understand that "Yes!" we need renewable energy, but they would prefer that the production happens without seeing any wind turbines or solar panels.

Yoko Alender (Estonian Minister of Climate), Karin Bachmann (Landscape Architect), Anna Semjonova (Advisor at Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture), Ivo Palu (Director of Electrical Power Engineering and Mechatronics Department at TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology), and Martin Kruus (Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Sunly) will discuss failures and successes in engaging communities.
